Are you going Insane: 10 Tips to Finally Reach That Goal, Once & For All!

“Insanity: Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” – Albert Einstein

Have you had the same old fitness goal for years and years now, have you been trying to lose the last 10 pounds forever, or maybe you’re trying to get rid of that muffin top, or run your first half marathon, but for some reason, you keep failing, or giving up? Do you feel like you’re never going to get it right, even though it’s something you want so badly, you keep starting over & over again and nothing seems to work out the way you plan it to?

Let’s face it, most of us know what it takes to look great, to get that six-pack, to get all lean and mean, right? Eat right, exercise smart, be consistent and the results will follow! We all know what needs to be done, but how many of us actually do it, stick with it until completion and beyond?

Do you ever ask yourself why this is so? Do you even stop and take a moment to be honest with yourself, or you just beat yourself up for being such a failure and try again, following the same path and reaching the same destination, over and over again!

It’s time to stop the insanity folks!

If you want to reach your goal once and for all, you need to make it a priority in your life, there may will be times when you will feel like giving up but remember that reaching your goal, fulfilling yourself, loving yourself and taking care of yourself is one of the most empowering things you can do! Think about how amazing & confident you will feel once you finally reach that goal…it’s mind over matter folks!

Here are 10 tips that I have found very helpful during my journey, I hope that you will find them as practical as I did & I wish you all the best in reaching your goal! Let’s do this!

1. Check Yourself Before You Wreck Yourself

Life is full of surprises and we cannot predict or control what is about to happen and guarantee that everything will always flow our way. Things happen, we might get our hearts broken, we might be dealing with lots of pressure at work, we might be feeling blue for no apparent reason, and this is simply a part of life. Our thoughts and our emotions have a huge impact on our actions and even our brain chemistry; this is why you need to invest time in your well-being. Every day, make sure that you take a moment to clean up your mind and set your intentions for that given day, remember what it is you want to focus on, what kind of life you want to live. Feeling blue or down can really make it hard to reach your goals and even harder to enjoy the experience, if you’re just not feeling that drive because of some unresolved emotion or issue, grab a pen and let it all out, listen to music and dance your heart away, go for a nice walk in the nature while repeating positive affirmations, what even you need to do, go for it!

2. Sometimes You Need to Be the “Boring” Parent

You might not always be up for that early morning run and it’s pretty easy to find excuses when you are the one with the final saying. Every time you feel like you are trying to escape a workout or when you feel tempted to open the fridge for a special treat out of boredom, bring out the “boring” parent in you and let them tell you what needs to be done in order for you to feel your best!

3. What is Inspiring You?

Take a moment to think of what is truly inspiring you to reach your goal. Is it purely physical, is it to please someone else? There is nothing wrong with wanting to feel attractive and loved but remember that taking the necessary steps to lead an amazing, exciting and fulfilling life is what will make you so freakin’ happy and  irresistible to other along the way.

4. Are You Bored in Life?

When your life is missing purpose, excitement and risk, you might get tempted to seek instant gratification in different areas in your life (such as food, watching a few movies instead of working out…). Next time you are looking for instant pleasure, ask yourself: Did I do everything I could today to make my life fulfilling and exciting? If not, try to do one thing that you have been putting off, something that speaks to you and gets your heart rate up!

5. Chose You Suffering

Suffer the pain of regret or the pain of discipline? It’s quite impossible to avoid all uncomfortable situations in life, and if you do so, your life might feel quite empty and dull. When you feel like reaching a certain goal requires too much effort and hard work, think about the feeling of regret you get when you have put off all of your dreams a side. What seems scarier to you?

6. Your Daily Practice

When you start planning for a new challenge and begin a new journey,  things tend to be quite “easy” and thrilling, not that working your ass off doesn’t require effort but when your mind is at the right place, what once seemed overwhelming becomes rather effortless. This first stage does not last forever, and in order to reach your goal, you need to stick to your action plan, every day. This is why it’s necessary to create an enjoyable experience in order to keep moving forwards in the right direction. If you want to keep your journey fun and exciting I suggest you create your own personalized ritual that will allow you to reconnect with your groove! I love watching workout videos, fitness blogs and networks to keep me inspired.

7. Know that You Will Reach your Goal, its Coming, you are Getting There, so Enjoy Every Step of the Way!

Every day in your journey to achieving your goal is a step forwards to a better, fitter you, inside and out! Do not take these daily small steps for granted, because they are the ones that will get you from point A to point B. Celebrate every step of the way, because  you are at a better place today then you where yesterday, and that’s something worth celebrating!

8. You Cannot Always Stick to THE PLAN & that’s Perfectly o.k.

So you’ve made your action plan, and you want to stick with it and stay 100% committed? That’s a great attitude, you always want to do your best, but on some days, your best might be less, you might feel weak, tired, or sick and these situations require you to make a few adjustments to the roadmap. Keep the big picture in mind when you are making your tweaks. Perhaps doing a lighter workout might get you closer to your goal, maybe you need an extra day of rest, listen to your body and you will be just fine.

9. When in Doubt, just Workout

Who ever said: “Man, I regret doing this workout today”? Probably no one (putting aside injury cases), breaking a sweat will give you a rush of endorphins; it will make you feel energized, happier, stronger, more positive…now who wouldn’t want that?

10. Work, Work Some More, and Show Up for your Dreams, Every Single Day

Although it’s not about being perfect 24/7, you need to keep going until you reach your destination point. It takes hard work to succeed but don’t let that scare you off, when you are doing something for the right reasons, your hard work becomes play and your play brings joy and bliss to your everyday life.
