Today, I’d like you to meet our very special guest, Samantha will be sharing her awesome journey to becoming a bikini fitness competitor. She will be updating us weekly by sharing her diet plan, training program and general thoughts and tips as she prepares herself for the big event. If you were ever curious to find out what it really takes to become a bikini competitor, now is your chance! I`m so excited to have her on board, following her through this challenging yet so rewarding journey is going to ROCK! Sam has already reached so much, and now, she is only 16 weeks out from the BIG DAY (May 18th 2013). That means that she has less than 4 months to get in tip-top shape for the stage!
My name is Samantha, I am 22 years old and I am a fitchick! I haven’t always been into health and fitness though. Back in 2009 when I first started college, I ate anything and everything my little heart desired. I dabbled here and there into fitness but never kept up with it, I always started for a month and stopped. I finally topped out weighing at 155lb and that was an eye opener for me! I was gaining weight and fast. So I started eating better and went to my very first Zumba class with my mom. I hated the Zumba class at first but my mom kept asking me to go with her and I would suck it up and go because I wanted to lose weight. After a few weeks I started to get the hang of it and fell in love!!!
I started to see weight come off and felt way better about myself! Eating better and losing weight made me more confident too which I loved! People started noticing my weight loss and told me how great I was looking- which was a great added bonus to my already great feeling
I even started getting so good at Zumba, the instructor of the classes I was attending let me teach a few routines here and there! I ended up getting the courage to take a Zumba Instructor workshop and became a Zumba instructor summer of last year!
I have fallen hard into health and fitness and this is not just temporary anymore like it use to be years ago, it’s permanent and here to stay in my life forever! Recently, last October I came across some bikini fitness competitors on Instagram and said to myself “hey I can do that!” I set my mind to it and increased my training and cleaned up my diet even more! I will be competing in the WBFF Bikini Diva division in Orlando, Fl May 18 of this year! I’m very nervous but excited! This will be my first show ever so I am giving it my all
Since my healthy/fit lifestyle change, I am proud to say I have lost a total of 25 pounds so far which may not seem like a lot to many, but it’s a huge change for me. If you stay strong and set your mind to something anything is truly possible!
