When it comes to fat loss and losing some unwanted pounds, it usually can’t happen fast enough. But even when you fix your diet and get plenty of physical exercise, fat burning supplements may speed things up enough to get you to your goals faster.
And no, I’m not talking about those dodgy pills you see on social media advertising.
There are legitimate supplements that burn fat using totally safe and natural ingredients. And to help you avoid those products that are ineffective, we’ve sat down with dietitians and tested some out for you.
Let’s dive right in.

#5 T6 STAR6URN-PM |
1. Lean PM (Editor's Choice)
The best feedback we got from our team and clients is on this Lean PM option.
It contains a good amount of melatonin, which has been clinically proven to help improve sleep quality [1].
And from a fat loss perspective, there are plenty of positive comments online saying that it may help your body burn a few extra calories and lose more weight.
Pros
CONS
I just wish I could get it in larger bulk-order containers.
2. RevBurn PM
Initially, I was a bit skeptical about RevBurn, as I had seen quite a bit of hype on social media.
However, our research and test results showed that the natural ingredient might indeed promote metabolic rates.
The only downside is that detailed ingredient amounts are not published, which is a bit of a pet hate of mine.
Pros
CONS
3. Nobi Nutrition
If you want to try and burn fat with supplements, but you’re on a tight budget, then Nobi Nutrition may be your answer.
In addition to helping with metabolic rates, we found a lot of people commenting on their improved sleep and muscle recovery after sports [2].
Unfortunately, this is another supplement that doesn’t publish exact measures of ingredients, which makes stacking more difficult.
Pros
CONS
4. NLA Her
I was delighted to find this NLA Her product for women, as it makes calculating and measuring the ideal dose that much easier.
Many women have commented that melatonin helps them relax their bodies.
It may also help to better deal with stress, which has been clinically proven [3].
Pros
CONS
Some women said they needed to go for a slightly larger dose to get the right amount of melatonin.
5. T6 STAR6URN-PM
This is one of the supplements that we noticed to be quite popular with bodybuilders as it claims to help with maintaining muscle mass.
It may be down to the amino acid profile chosen, which have been shown to help with fat burning [4].
The only thing we found is that it doesn’t work as well as other supplements to suppress hunger.
Pros
CONS
6. NatureWise
NatureWise makes a big claim in their advertising that it may help to burn 116 calories while you lay in bed.
We couldn’t find any real proof to back that up, but there were quite a few comments online indicating that it may help with weight loss.
Pros
CONS
The only downside is that it’s another fat burner that doesn’t publish detailed amounts of ingredients.
7. Havasu Nutrition
What stood out for us with this Havasu fat burner is that a lot of people comment that it works well to suppress your appetite, so you don’t wake up craving food.
The company also offers a daytime supplement that may help with your diet efforts.
While you can stack it with the daytime pills, you still don’t know exactly what amounts of active ingredients you’re getting.
Pros
CONS
8. Amate Life
Amate Life claims to have selected an amino acid profile best suited to help with recovery times.
From the reviews we saw in bodybuilding forums, it may also be a good choice to help during cutting phases.
The main downside is that it doesn’t contain the hormone melatonin, so we found it wasn’t as effective at promoting better sleep.
Pros
CONS
Sleep and fat burning are related as the body uses resting periods to boost certain metabolic processes. This has been backed up by some very interesting clinical studies where the results were quite convincing [5].
Over a two-week trial period, test subjects were evaluated for weight loss and body fat storage. Researchers compared body fat reduction during a week with 8.5 hours of sleep to another week with 5.5 hours of sleep.
The results showed that during the shorter sleep week, test subjects lost 60% less fat.
It turns out that the ability to burn fat very much depends on the amount of sleep you get.
Benefits Of Taking Nighttime Fat Burners
OK, so there’s scientific proof behind these products, but what can you actually expect?
Help With Longer Fasting Periods
Weight loss comes down to two factors. You need to consume less energy and become more physically active. The result has to be a net-negative calorie intake in order for the body to burn fat.
Many of these supplements may help make you feel full for longer, meaning you can fast for longer to reduce your food intake.
Promote Thermogenic Fat Burning
The most effective way to increase fat loss is to trigger your thermogenic metabolism. This involves naturally raising your body temperature by burning off more energy [6]. We’ll get into some details about ingredients that may help with this shortly.
Improve Your Sleep Cycles
Night fat burners will often contain melatonin and chamomile extract. Especially chamomile is becoming more popular as a sleep aid, with some studies linking it to significant sleep improvements [7].
Speed Up Muscle Recovery And Growth
We mentioned how sleep and fat burning are linked above, but sleep also plays an important role in muscle recovery and exercise performance. Some studies have linked sleep deprivation to a reduction in muscle strength [8].
Now for the fun part.
For bodybuilders the main functions are growth and mental alertness. Sleep provides these effects directly. Without adequate sleep, time in the gym could be, to a large degree, wasted.

What Ingredients Does A Good Nighttime Fat Burner Need?
After spending some quality science geek time with my dietitian, I came up with a list of ingredients that you should look out for.
Green Tea Extract: Several studies have been conducted to identify how green tea extract may help with thermogenic processes [9]. The good news is that you don’t need to gulp down loads of cups of green tea, as the extract may work just as well.
Raspberry Ketones: I had seen these quite often in keto supplements, but it seems like studies are now suggesting that raspberry ketones may also help with removing fat and preventing fat storage [10].
Garcinia Cambogia: This simple Asian fruit has been studied quite extensively, and you’ve probably seen it more commonly in health food stores. One aspect of it that may be helpful for anyone trying to lose some body weight is that studies have shown that it influences your appetite [11].
Magnesium: Most athletes will be aware that magnesium may help to prevent muscle soreness and cramps [12]. The same effect that prevents cramping muscles may also contribute to a more relaxed sleep. And as you should now understand, better sleep means more fat reduction.
Melatonin: This is a completely natural hormone that your body will build up throughout the day. It’s this hormone that makes you feel gradually more sleepy as the evening progresses. However, with a stressful day and a lot of blue light exposure, your melatonin levels may become suppressed [13]. Even just a few milligrams may make a significant difference.
Chamomile: Chamomile tea used to be quite common as an evening remedy to help you sleep better. Modern studies have been able to prove a lot of its benefits, and I have seen it more commonly in bedtime teas [14].
Valerian Root: Another completely natural ingredient that has gained more scientific interest is valerian root. Even small amounts have been shown to impact sleep patterns and cycles positively [15].
L-Theanine: L-theanine is an amino acid that is largely missing in our diets, and research has shown that it may have a relaxing but not sedating effect [16]. This may help with falling asleep faster after a busy day.
Interestingly, the relaxing and attention promoting properties of L-theanine coupled with the lack of sedation may have its most significant supplemental role in attenuating the 'edge' of many stimulants.

OK, all the nerdy stuff is out of the way. Let’s get to some pressing questions.
Do Nighttime Fat Burners Work?
Yes, nighttime fat burners work, especially those based on natural ingredients with proven fat loss properties. I honestly cannot stress this point more.
There are so many products available today that claim to be the best for helping you lose several pounds a week without making any changes to your lifestyle. Believe me when I say such products aren’t real.
However, with the right combination of proven day and night supplements, you may be able to boost your progress enough to maintain motivation and momentum.
Be sure to check out this video if you want to learn more ...
Are Nighttime Fat Burners Safe?
Yes, nighttime fat burners are safe, as long as you avoid any use of prescription or experimental drugs. While there is a place for these types of medications to be used for treating actual sleep disorders, they should not be considered for everyday use.
However, some people may have negative reactions to some of the ingredients listed above.
That’s why I suggest to start with half a dose for a few days and to monitor for any stomach issues like cramps and bloating.
If, after a few days, you don’t notice anything like nausea, cramps, headaches, skin rash, or itching, you should be OK to take the full recommended dose.
